I made a Pepsi ad with AI — and LinkedIn went nuts

Swipe of the Day

Step 1: The Concept
What if the Pepsi logo wasn’t just branding...
…but the wave itself?
I imagined a surfer riding through a barrel wave shaped like the Pepsi swirl — bold, cinematic, iconic.
🧠 Step 2: The Prompt (ChatGPT)
I asked ChatGPT to take that concept and come up with a prompt. Here’s a version of the image prompt:
A surfer cuts through an impossibly perfect barrel wave. The swirling water forms the red-white-blue bands of the Pepsi logo. It feels like he's surfing through refreshment itself.
🎬 Step 3: Bring it to Life (Kling AI)
Once the image clicked, I used Kling AI to animate it. Used the End Frame feature of Kling v1.6
The still became a mini-ad — full of energy, movement, and flavor.
Micro-Lesson
Art Movement Mimicry 🎨🖌️
Goal: Channel the signature look of legendary art movements—Impressionism, Cubism, Art Nouveau, Pop Art, Surrealism, and more—to give your images instant cultural flair.
Why Emulate Historical Styles?
Instant storytelling – Viewers recognise Van Gogh swirls or Warhol flats in a glance.
Brand personality – Match campaign tone with era‑specific aesthetics.
Creative constraint – Style caps technique options, sparking focused originality.
Snapshot of Movements & Hallmarks
Movement | Visual Cues | Keywords to Drop In |
|---|---|---|
Impressionism | Soft edges, visible brushstrokes, pastel light | “loose brushwork,” “plein‑air,” “dappled sunlight” |
Cubism | Fragmented geometry, multiple viewpoints | “angular facets,” “overlapping planes,” “Picasso‑style” |
Art Nouveau | Flowing lines, floral motifs, ornate frames | “organic whiplash curves,” “Alphonse Mucha palette” |
Pop Art | Flat bold colours, halftone dots, comic feel | “Ben‑Day dots,” “high‑saturation,” “Warhol silkscreen” |
Surrealism | Dreamlike juxtapositions, absurd scales | “Dali‑esque melting,” “one‑point desert horizon” |
3‑Step Prompt Recipe
Name Movement + Hallmarks
“Pop Art, bold flat colours, Ben‑Day dots”Define Subject & Composition
“retro scooter profile, centred portrait orientation”Add Medium/Texture Details
“silkscreen print look, slight ink misalignment”
“Pop Art poster of a retro scooter, bold flat colours, Ben‑Day dots texture, slight silkscreen ink misalignment, thick black outlines, vibrant cyan and magenta palette”
Micro‑Exercise
Pick a movement from the table.
List 2–3 hallmark adjectives.
Craft a one‑sentence prompt.
Generate and iterate—adjust brushstroke size, line weight, or palette until style locks in.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Quick Fix |
|---|---|
Style feels generic | Prepend artist reference: “in the style of Kandinsky.” |
Colours too modern | Add “period‑accurate palette” or “limited pigments.” |
Details too crisp for Impressionism | Use “soft focus, visible brushstroke texture.” |
